If you're on your own and would like to meet other people, why stay in now that summer is here and the nights are shorter. You could be out socialising with new friends at Club Weekenders.

We're a social club for single people over 35 and this year we are celebrating our 10th anniversary. To mark the occasion, we had a dinner dance in June. Throughout the year we enjoy different events such as visiting the theatre and going to the cinema, walking, bowling, skittles, discos, quiz and sports evenings, having meals in pubs and restaurants, mini breaks and holidays abroad.

With Club Weekenders you will meet people who enjoy experiencing different interests and going to new places. If you are on your own and would like to meet us, do give Judith or Bree a call and they will arrange for you to meet them at one of our bar nights in Fareham.

Ring now, you'll be glad you did!

Last Sunday we had the most brilliant treasure hunt which began at 3:30 pm, took us all around The Wickham area, Mislingford, Wood End, Newtown, Southwick and Portsdown Hill, ending up at the Delme Arms for a barbeque. The winning team were Sandra, Mary, new lady Kate and me (Brenda) as the driver. I would like to give a personal apology to the started old gentleman at the junction of Liberty Road who saw us go past him three times in the space of one minute, and also thanks to the church goer at Southwick who very patiently tried to understand why were were looking for something missing in the church - she was not able to help us, but we luckily chanced across the parish magazine.......... of St James without a lychgate!
Everyone had a great time and special thanks to Judith and Neville for the superb organisation

Some people don't find it easy to go away on their own and if you would like company, come and meet us and hear about our mini breaks and holidays that we enjoy with club members.

This year we have been to Rome and Southern Ireland. In July we are visiting St Gervais and in October we are looking forward to a long weekend in Cricket St. Thomas, Somerset.

Plans are also in place for a Nile Cruise early in 2011.

As you've probably noticed, the site has changed.

It is now based on a blog rather than the static files, so selected people can publish news articles easily. I have also linked it in to the events calendar - just click on the events link in the title bar and then the month you wish to view.

The calendar software has also been upgraded, which involved a bit of rewriting, so you'll notice some slight differences, such as the regular weekly events appearing in the monthly listings and possibly a few oddities that I haven't got around to fixing yet.

For those who add their own events to the calendar, I've included a login link on the events page.
