Club Weekenders

As spring approaches, the days are getting longer and if you're on your own and would like to meet other people, don't stay in when you could be out socialising with new friends at Club Weekenders.

We're a social club for single people over 35 and this year, are celebrating our 10 year anniversary. This is a special landmark and so we are having a dinner/dance in June so join us now and you will have the chance to celebrate with us. We enjoy different events throughout the year including walks, visiting the theatre and going to the cinema, meals in pubs and restaurants, bowling, skittles, quiz evenings, sports evenings, mini breaks and holidays abroad.

With Club Weekenders you will meet people who enjoy experiencing different interests and going to new places. If you are on your own and would like to meet us, give Angela a call and she will arrange for you to meet her at one of our bar nights in Fareham.

Some people don't find it easy to go away on their own so, if you would like company, come and meet us and hear about our mini breaks and holidays abroad that we enjoy with club members. Last year we visited Bath and Slimbridge, Guernsey, Barcelona, Turkey and a seasonal visit to Ilfracombe in December.

This year, 2010 we are going to Rome in March, Southern Ireland in April, St Gervais in July and in October a weekend in Somerset.

As you've probably noticed, the site has changed.

It is now based on a blog rather than the static files, so selected people can publish news articles easily. I have also linked it in to the events calendar - just click on the events link in the title bar and then the month you wish to view.

The calendar software has also been upgraded, which involved a bit of rewriting, so you'll notice some slight differences, such as the regular weekly events appearing in the monthly listings and possibly a few oddities that I haven't got around to fixing yet.
